Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old missing teen from Lake Elsinore, California, has been formally identified as the decomposed body discovered in singer D4vd’s seized Tesla.
Authorities were notified on September 8 that a Tesla parked at a tow yard close to Mansfield Avenue and Romaine Street in Hollywood, Los Angeles, was emitting a strong odor. After being found abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, the car had been impounded for two days. Inside a bag in the front trunk of the car, police discovered the severely decomposed body of a teenage girl who was later identified as Celeste Rivas.
In April 2024, Celeste was reported missing. A tattoo on her right index finger that said “Shhh,” which her mother had mentioned when police released a description, helped identify her body. The teenager, who weighed roughly 71 pounds and had wavy black hair, was discovered wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal bracelet, and metal stud earrings. The Los Angeles County medical examiner has listed the cause of death as “deferred” and it is still pending.
David Anthony Burke, a well-known artist with a sizable global fan base, is the registered owner of the Tesla in which Rivas’s body was discovered. D4vd was on his Withered World tour when he was discovered, and he has stated that he will cooperate fully with the police during the course of the investigation.
While they look into how Celeste got into the musician’s abandoned car, police are treating the case as a homicide. As of right now, the public is unaware of any previous relationship between D4vd and the victim.
